Throughout history, new visual languages have often been dismissed before they were understood. Cubism was once criticized as meaningless distortion. Today, digital art and NFTs receive many of the same arguments; too simple, too conceptual, not "real" art.

In July, 2026, "SUPER RARE" text based work by Jack Butcher’s sold for 5 ETH, reigniting the recurring question: What makes something art? The answer has never been found in complexity alone, but in context, ideas, and the conversations a work is able to provoke.
